1. Armored/GRP Piping Standards

Fibertech's pipes are manufactured to meet a wide range of international and Israeli standards, such as:  ASTM, AWWA and several ISO and EN standards, which are compatible with a wide variety of piping applications, including sanitary sewage conveyance and water and industrial applications. Most standards share a common definition of the properties required for pipelines, as well as the tests that must  be conducted during the manufacturing process and on the finished product.

Tested GRP pipes for sanitary sewage, which have been in use for over 25 years, indicate their outstanding durability and safety, many years beyond the expectancy.

1. ASTM Standards

ASTM Standards are compatible with various pipeline applications.  All standard testing cover pipe diameters ranging between 200 mm [AN1] and 3,600 mm, as well as piping connectors to withstand hydrostatic pressure testing according to standard ASTM D4161, which simulates intensive work conditions.

The standards include tough competence testing and extensive quality tests.

2. ASTM Standards in use:

 
  • ASTM D3262 Fiberglass Gravity Sewer Pipes
  • ASTM D3517 Fiberglass pressure pipes
  • ASTM D3754 Sewer and Industrial Pressure Pipes

3.. AWWA Standards

Standard AWWA C950 is one of the most extensive standards for GRP pipes. This piping standard for conveying drinking water at a pressure relates extensively to the pipes, the piping connectors, quality control, and comprehensive prototype testing. Similarly to the ASTM Standards, this standards relates to the performance of the piping.

The AWWA M45 Standard relates to pipe design for underground and overhead applications.

The following ASTM Standards are in use:

  • AWWA M45 Fiberglass Pipe Design

4.. ISO and EN Standards

In the past, several national standards were used. These standards are now gradually being replaced by European standards. The following European Standards are in use:

 
  • EN 1796 Plastics piping systems for water supply with or without pressure
  • EN 14364 Plastics piping systems for drainage and sewerage with or without pressure
  • ISO 10639 Plastics piping systems for pressure and non-pressure water supply
  • ISO 10467 Plastics piping systems for pressure and non-pressure drainage and sewerage
  • ISO 14692 Petroleum and natural gas industries -- Glass-reinforced plastics (GRP) piping

5.. Israeli Standard
 
  • SI 1892 Part I  Glass-Fiber-Reinforced Thermosetting Resin Pipes: Water Pressure Pipes (adopted standard AWWA C950)
  • SI 1892 Part II  Glass-Fiber-Reinforced Thermosetting Resin Pipes: Sewer Pressure Pipe (adopted standardASTM D3754)
  • IS 1892 Part III  Glass-Fiber-Reinforced Thermosetting Resin Pipes: Non-Pressure Sewer Pipe (adopted standard ASTM D3262)
